Book 1

Think & Grow Balls!

How to Shrink Your Fear & Enlarge Your Courage

Most self-help books tell you what to think. Almost none teach you how to act when fear shows up. The blunt first step in the series names the missing piece behind stalled goals — fear running the show — and shows how to shrink it so you can move.

What readers say

Reader reviews

  • “Not only is the title of your book a stroke of genius, your book stays away from the self-help aspect and deals with the science and psychology behind why your philosophy works. … I have read it many times.”
Bruce F.Reader, Madison, WI · on Think & Grow Balls!
  • “I’ve read your book several times now and every time I do I get that little pick-me-up that I’ve never found in another self-help book.”
    Janice B.Reader, New Orleans, LA
  • “You write with a nice mix of humor and seriousness and you have a gift with words.”
    Jenny B.Reader, Reno, NV
  • “Your book is a fast read and it’s worth far more than I paid for it.”
    Charlene J.Reader, Milwaukee, WI

About the author

J.D. Bloodstone

Knowledge isn’t enough. You have to act on it.

J.D. Bloodstone is based in Boise, Idaho, and has been writing candid, direct books on courage and personal achievement since 2007. Before Think & Grow Balls! took its final form, he spent about six months interviewing people to test his ideas against real fears and real goals. His books take on a simple idea most of the self-improvement shelf skips: knowing what to do isn’t the problem — fear is.

His bold, humorous writing style draws on psychology, physiology and the lessons of great leaders, athletes and thinkers, and turns them into something you can actually use the next time fear shows up.
